A 26-year-old woman who was jailed for posting naked photos of her father’s former mistress online has now been sent back to prison.
Eleanor Brown, from Morley, West Yorkshire, was first jailed in October 2024. She had been released late last year on licence and was wearing an electronic ankle tag. But last month she was recalled to prison. A Ministry of Justice source confirmed the recall, although it is not clear why.
The story began many years ago. When Eleanor was 14, she found out that her father, Geoff Brown, a former police officer, had an affair. The relationship nearly destroyed her parents’ marriage.
Her mother, Sarah, stayed with him, but the pain did not fully go away. For years, the matter seemed to stay in the past. Then, 12 years later, it came back again.
Sarah learned that the mistress’s husband had started a new business and that it was doing well. Old anger returned. According to court details, Sarah still felt deep resentment toward the woman who had almost broken her family.
She sent sexual images of the mistress to her daughter. That decision would later play a major role in what happened next.
One night, after drinking alcohol, Eleanor decided to take revenge. Encouraged by her mother and her sister Sophie, she created a fake profile on the Viva Street website. The advert offered sexual services for £5 and overnight stays for £10. It included a picture of the mistress. Eleanor also added the phone number of the woman’s husband.
The impact was immediate. Within 30 minutes of the ad being posted, the husband received 14 text messages and eight calls from men who believed the advert was real. His phone “blew up” with messages from strangers. The situation quickly became serious.
Eleanor did not stop there. Around the same time, she began targeting the husband’s new business on social media. Egged on by her mother and sister, she posted insulting comments. She called the man’s wife a “home-wrecking s**g and a tramp.”
She also sent the husband a WhatsApp message with a link to the Viva Street advert. Along with it, she sent a link to the Celine Dion song It’s All Coming Back To Me Now, clearly referring to the past affair.
Later, Brown said: “I didn’t think what I was doing would be considered revenge porn.”

A week after she created the fake escort profile, police arrived at her home and arrested her. During the investigation, officers found messages showing that her sister Sophie had encouraged her actions. At the time, Sophie was a serving police officer. However, she was not charged.
In October 2024, Eleanor Brown was sentenced to three years in prison. On appeal, the sentence was reduced to two years. The judge described her behavior as “vindictive, selfish and vengeful” and said she had shown a “staggering” lack of remorse, according to BBC.
After serving half of her sentence, she was released on licence late last year. As part of her release conditions, she wore an electronic ankle tag. Offenders on licence must follow strict rules, and breaking them can lead to being sent back to prison.
Since her release, Brown has spoken openly on social media. She said she felt she had been “put in prison for a joke.” She also complained about prison conditions.
In one video on TikTok, she said: “If I could turn the clocks back the only thing I’d do differently is put my phone in the bin. I would just bin the phone, that phone has got me in so much trouble.”
She added: “But I am not remorseful. I do not hold any remorse in my body. I wouldn’t do it again – your nudes are all safe – but I am definitely not remorseful.”
In another video, she said: “I think the moral of the story is that I am not sorry, never will be sorry, will never do it again. And [now] I’ve got a job, got a house, got a nice fella, got good friends, got a good family.”
Last month, she was recalled to prison. A Ministry of Justice source confirmed the decision but did not explain the reason. Brown later posted a message on her Instagram feed while claiming she had been prevented from having “contact with the outside world” after being recalled.
Under the heading “Eleanor update!!!!” she wrote: “I need you to tell my mum an officer has told me the prison will not let me speak to my mum, all excuses I have been told are excuses.
“They will not facilitate contact with my mum because of what I have been recalled for, she needs to tell a solicitor. They won’t authorise her pin, they won’t let me have any contact with her.
I have been told this, I also cannot get a legal call until tomorrow…please tell her asap. She needs to go to press with this. They won’t let me have contact with outside world!!!! What the f***.”
It is unclear how she has been able to access social media while in prison.
A Ministry of Justice spokesperson said: “Offenders released on licence are subject to strict conditions and we do not hesitate to send them back to prison if they break the rules.”
